DEFINITION OF URBANIZATION
Urbanization is the process of transforming an area from rural to urban . Urbanization also occurs as urban settlements develop into larger and more complex cities. CONCEPT OF URBANIZATION 1. Urban development occurs with the addition of buildings, spaces, businesses, urban areas, improved systems and transportation networks as well as urban functioning. 2. Increase the number and percentage of people living in urban areas. For example, in Malaysia a location is classified as a city if it has a population of over 10,000. 3. Urbanization is defined as structural and traditional development (agriculture) to modern economies such as industry, manufacturing and services. 4. Transform the way of life of every community to the values and lifestyle of the city.
